Ângelo Gabriel (18) is currently on loan at RC Strasbourg Alsace from Chelsea and registered his first assist for the club during Les Alsaciens’ 1-0 Derby de l’Est victory over FC Metz.
BlueCo secured the purchase of Strasbourg in the summer, which opened up a new link between the Ligue 1 club and Chelsea. Whilst ultimately few players made switches between the two clubs, one player who did was Ângelo Gabriel. The Brazilian winger joined Chelsea from Santos for €15m in the summer and was then immediately loaned out to Strasbourg for the season.
The winger is developing nicely in Ligue 1. He is yet to score for the club but registered his first assist in September against Metz. However, despite the relatively meagre output, Ângelo Gabriel has been a bright spark for Strasbourg. Patrick Vieira’s side are currently eighth in Ligue 1, but performances, in general, have disappointed. But the Brazilian has stood out, and he has now been rewarded for his eye-catching performances by being named Ligue 1’s Young Player of the Month for September.
