Christophe Galtier in Qatar to become new Al Duhail manager

According to Fabrizio Romano, Christophe Galtier has arrived in Qatar ahead of being appointed as the new manager of Al Duhail. The former PSG manager will replace the recently dismissed Hernán Crespo at the helm of the Qatari club.

Fabrizio Romano reports that the deal should be completed today and then an announcement of his appointment should follow. Talks to make the former Nice and Lille manager the new boss of the Qatari club entered final stages on Tuesday and Galtier has now travelled to the Middle East ahead of starting his new job.

Galtier will be the new boss of Phillipe Coutinho who joined Al Duhail on loan from Aston Villa in the summer transfer window. He was approached to become the new manager of Marseille before they appointed Genarro Gatusso but turned down the approach to take charge of PSG’s bitter rivals. Galtier was also linked with the Napoli job in the summer.
