Dave Brailsford’s role at Nice diminishing

Get French Football News understands that Dave Brailsford’s role at OGC Nice has diminished in recent weeks as the INEOS Sporting Director’s focus switches to the purchase of Manchester United.

Brailsford has played an active role at Nice over the course of the past year and carried out an audit on the club last summer. However, Get French Football News understands that he is now playing a reduced role at Les Aiglons. This is evidenced by the club’s preference in their managerial search.

As reported by multiple outlets, including RMC Sport and L’Équipe, FC Lorient manager Régis Le Bris is the number one candidate to replace Didier Digard in the Nice dugout, although the difficulty in bringing the Frenchman to the club is leading them to explore alternatives, as reported by Sacha Tavolieri. Le Bris is Florent Ghisolfi’s choice, not Brailsford’s, who instead wanted to bring former Chelsea manager Graham Potter to the Allianz Riviera, as revealed by sources contacted by Get French Football News. This option has now seemingly been abandoned. Brailsford is now focusing heavily on the purchase of Manchester United. A decision on the sale of the Old Trafford club has yet to be made.
