Official | Troyes president Aymeric Magne dismissed after losing appeal on domestic violence charges

Aymeric Magne has been dismissed from his post as president of City Football Group-owned Troyes, the Ligue 2 side has announced. The 41-year-old executive received a three-month suspended sentence on the count of domestic violences by the Reims’ Appeal Court on Wednesday. According to a report from France 3, on October 28th 2022, Magne dragged his wife by the neck whilst she opened the door of their moving car. She later called the emergency services and revealed her husband was beating her.

The Reims’ Appeal Court confirmed the initial verdict ruled by the Troyes’ Criminal Court last March and gave Magne a three-month suspended prison sentence. Troyes, who were relegated from Ligue 1 to the second-tier, confirmed today that their board had decided to part ways with Magne with immediate effect. The City Football Group-owned side later announced that Mattijs Manders would become the eastern France side’s new CEO. The Dutch executive is a former executive at Dutch sides NEC Breda and ADO Den Haag.
