Official | Wilson Odobert joins Burnley

Promoted Premier League side Burnley FC have announced the signing of French striker Wilson Odobert (18) on a five-year deal. The PSG youth product joined City Football Group-owned Troyes last year. Despite the relegation of the eastern side into Ligue 2, Odobert was Troyes’ overall best young player with four goals and two assists in 32 games played.

Burnley reportedly spent €12m excluding bonuses to bring the teenager to Turf Moor. The French winger has been given the #47 jersey with Vincent Kompany’s side. “I want to play as much as possible at Burnley“, said Odobert. “Do well with the team, stay in the team and do as well as I possibly can.” Odobert attended the Clarets’ first Premier League home game of the season last night against Manchester City – with the visitors comprehensively winning 3-0. It is being reported that Burnley are on the search for more French talent during the current window. Galatasaray’s Sacha Boey reportedly features on the Clarets’ shortlist.
