Monaco’s Thiago Scuro meets with Chelsea target Deivid Washington

According to Foot Mercato, AS Monaco are pushing to beat Chelsea to capturing the services of Deivid Washington from Santos. In an attempt to steal a march on the Blues, Monaco’s new sporting director Thiago Scuro has travelled to Brazil to meet the striker and his family.

Despite Les Monégasques rivalling Chelsea for the Santos forward, the Blues are still thought to be confident. If they win the race, Chelsea plan to send the 18-year-old on loan to Strasbourg for the season. The asking price for the Brazilian is thought to be around €20m, with both Adi Hütter and Mauricio Pochettino keen to see him arrive at their respective clubs.

Washington is one of the Brasilerio’s hottest prospects. He has scored two goals in 9 Serié A appearances to date. Monaco are also trying to complete moves to sign former Chelsea loanee Denis Zakaria from Juventus and Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham before the start of the Ligue 1 season.
