Marseille prosecutor to open investigations on threats aimed at OM president Pablo Longoria

A week after the insult-ridden meeting between four Olympique de Marseille executives and representatives of fan groups that kickstarted the current management crisis at the Vélodrome, the rift between the club and their most influential supporters may have judicial ramifications.

Marseille prosecutor Dominique Laurens has announced to La Provence that her office has opened up preliminary investigations regarding potential threats aimed at Longoria by Marseille supporters. Speaking on Friday to announce his intention to remain in his position as OM president, Longoria described last Monday’s events as “unacceptable” and mentioned “threats” and “intimidations” as well as the filing of a complaint by his lawyers.

We’re opening an investigation on the basis of elements revealed by the press. We are yet to receive a complaint, but I believe it will be sent this week“, said Laurens to the local outlet. From their side, several representatives of Marseille fan groups have denied threatening Longoria or the other three OM executives who attended the meeting.
