Nice draw Sheriff Tiraspol in Europa Conference League

OGC Nice have been drawn against Moldovan side Sheriff Tiraspol in the Europa Conference League, who are currently comfortably leading their domestic division.

Sheriff are most well known for pulling off a shock victory at the Bernabeu against Real Madrid in 2021. This season, the Moldovan side began their European campaign in the Europa League but failed to get out of a group that contained Manchester United, Real Sociedad and Omonoia. The club beat Partizan Belgrade to get through to the Round of 16 where they will face Nice.

Having qualified at the top of their Europa Conference League group, Nice bypassed the last round, and their reward is a tricky tie against the Moldovan league leaders. The first leg of the tie will take place on 9th March with the return leg taking place one week later on 17th March.

Since Nice’s last game, Les Aiglons have had a change of manager. Since taking over from Lucien Favre, Didier Digard’ Nice are unbeaten.
