Leeds and Inter Milan among clubs interested in Lens striker Loïs Openda

Since joining Lens last summer, Loïs Openda has emerged as the Sang et Or‘s primary attacking threat, with the Belgian’s 15 league goals so far leading the way in the team’s charge for a Champions League spot. His constant movement and deep runs – which particularly caused problems for Marquinhos at the Parc des Princes on Saturday – encapsulate the threat he poses to Ligue 1 defences.

According to Foot Mercato, the former Club Brugge, who moved to France for €10m, has attracted interest from clubs around the continent. Among Openda’s potential suitors are a host of Premier League outfits, including Leeds, while Eintracht Frankfurt and Inter Milan – among other German and Italian teams – are also in the mix. The 23-year-old could also remain in France, with Monaco and Marseille also interested. The forward is valued at around €30m, although he has no intention of leaving for the time being – the team are on the cusp of securing European qualification and their proximity to Belgium means he is able to visit his family often.
