Marseille predicted XI v Brighton: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to lead the line

Despite Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s continued difficulties in Ligue 1, the Gabonese forward has quickly found his feet in Europe, and he looks set to lead the line again against Brighton.

Aubameyang is yet to net in Ligue 1 since arriving at Marseille from Chelsea on a free transfer, however, he already has four goals in just three games in European competition (two in Europa League, two in Champions League qualification). He looks set to be flanked by Iliman Ndiaye and Ismaila Sarr; the latter is returning from an injury.

Gennaro Gattuso, in his first home game since joining Marseille, is not expected to spring any surprises, and he is set to keep with his favoured 4-3-3 formation, which he utilised in a 3-2 defeat against AS Monaco at the weekend. Geoffrey Kondogbia is the only notable absence for the tie.

Marseille likely lineup v Brighton

Pau Lopez; Ronan Lodi, Samuel Gigot, Chancel Mbemba, Jonathan Clauss; Valentin Roniger, Jordan Veretout, Azzedine Ounahi; Iliman Ndiaye, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ismaila Sarr. (L’Éq)
