Foot Mercato are reporting that AS Monaco have offered academy goalkeeper Lisandru Olmeta (17) a first professional contract.
The contract was proposed a few weeks ago, however, the France U17 goalkeeper wants assurances, and could potentially leave the Principality side on a free on 30th June. Olmeta wants assurances that the club counts on him in the future, even if he is aware that he isn’t in immediate contention for a starting spot.
Alexander Nübel, on loan from Bayern Munich until the summer, is the current number one, whilst youth prospect Yann Liénard is currently third-choice, and trains with the first-team alongside Nübel and Thomas Didillon, who is on loan at the club from satellite club Cercle Brugge.
Stade Rennais and ESTAC Troyes are ready to make concrete moves for Olmeta. Troyes, part of the City Group, headed by Premier League side Manchester City, would almost be signing the player as an intermediary. Chelsea, Manchester United, West Ham United and Leeds United are also interested.
