N’Golo Kanté completes medical ahead of Al Ittihad move

Fabrizio Romano is reporting that N’Golo Kanté (32) has completed a medical ahead of his impending move to Saudi Arabian side Al Ittihad.

The Italian journalist yesterday reported yesterday that the France international was on the verge of joining the club, who yesterday wrapped up the signing of compatriot, Karim Benzema (35). Kanté will join the Saudi club on a free transfer. Despite the player’s entourage telling Le Parisien back in April that they expected to reach an agreement with Chelsea, and that Kanté wanted to continue his career in London, no extension to the deal – which expires at the end of the season – was found.

After Saudi emissaries held discussions with the player’s entourage in London yesterday, a deal has now seemingly been completed, and Kanté himself has already completed the medical in London. He will sign a two-year deal, which will include the option of a further year.

The France international will earn €100m per season, a figure that includes image rights, commercial deals and a ‘creative’ portfolio, according to Romano.
