Thierry Henry’s arrival at PSG in doubt

Yesterday, L’Équipe revealed that Thierry Henry could be part of Julian Nagelsmann’s coaching team on the bench at Paris Saint-Germain. However, Le Parisien and Foot Mercato reveal today that the exchanges between the ex-French international and the German coach have not exactly gone to plan.

While Luis Campos has been active in bringing in new faces to the Parc des Princes, with Marcos Asensio and Manuel Ugarte expected to sign imminently, there is still a big question over who will be the club’s manager next season, as well as who will be part of his coaching staff.

Currently a pundit for Amazon Prime and CBS Sports, Henry would also like to spend more time in England, where his family is living. Adding more responsibilities in France is not conducive to that.

Additionally, Le Parisien believe that he was looking more at a head coach position for the next step in his managerial career, rather than another assistant job. Having worked under Roberto Martinez with the Belgium squad, Henry feels he can move back into the main managerial position, after two unsuccessful experiences at AS Monaco and Impact Montreal. The PSG board are seemingly not interested in offering him this level of responsibility.
