Marco Asensio returns to light training with PSG

According to Le Parisien, Marco Asensio (27) has resumed light training with PSG following a month-long absence. The Spanish international has been injured for the last 4 weeks due to a foot injury that he sustained in Spain’s 7-1 victory against Cyprus in the September international break

The former Real Madrid attacking midfielder missed out on playing for his nation in the latest international break due to the injury. Things are now looking more promising for the Spaniard with him resuming ball work in training ahead of a full return to training with the PSG first team. Even though he’s training alone at present, he could return to full training in the coming days.

Asensio has impressed at the Parc des Princes since he made the switch from Real Madrid on a free transfer. Familiar with the 27-year-old from the Spanish national team, Luis Enrique has deployed the attacking midfielder in a false nine role which has seen him excel despite his injury disruptions to date. Asensio has scored 2 goals and assisted one in his 3 appearances for Les Parisiens.
