Official | Anthony Rouault joins Stuttgart from Toulouse on loan

VfB Stuttgart have officially confirmed the signing of centre-back Anthony Rouault (22) from Toulouse on loan. The French defender joins the Bundesliga club on a season-long loan. The deal includes a purchase option, according to L’Equipe.

Anthony Rouault arrives at Stuttgart as a likely replacement for Konstantinos Mavropanos who has completed a move to West Ham United this summer. The Toulouse defender’s contract is set to expire at the end of 2024 and was a key part of the team that won the Coupe de France in 2023.

The 22-year-old, who came up through the ranks at Toulouse, was a regular starter last season. He featured 37 times in Ligue 1, chipping in with two goals. However, he is yet to make an appearance this year. Rouault was reportedly the subject of interest from another German club in Mainz last year, in the wake of the defender’s Ligue 2 title win with his formative club.
