Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Wolfsburg have approached RC Strasbourg Alsace over a move for Ismaël Doukouré (20), who would reportedly be interested in a move to the Bundesliga side.
Doukouré is one of the most promising prospects in this Strasbourg side. He is the type of player who six months ago, Les Alsaciens would have struggled to retain amidst interest from another club. However, BlueCo’s takeover has changed everything and Strasbourg now have the capacity to retain their key talents.
Wolfsburg have now come knocking on the door for Doukouré, however, Strasbourg are seemingly unwilling to negotiate. Instead, the Ligue 1 side want to offer the centre-back, who started in Strasbourg’s opening-day victory over Olympique Lyonnais, a new contract. Doukouré himself is, however, willing to discuss with Wolfsburg. Strasbourg may therefore have to convince Doukouré to commit himself to the ambitious project at the club amidst interest from Germany.
