Fabio Grosso victim of suspected concussion after Marseille fans attack Lyon bus

Olympique Lyonnais manager Fabio Grosso is the victim of a suspected concussion after the team bus was attacked by Olympique de Marseille supporters en route to tonight’s Choc des Olympiques at the Vélodrome.

Lyon’s bus was attacked en route to the Stade Vélodrome with fans throwing stones and other projectiles at the team bus. The window of the bus was smashed, leaving Grosso with a considerable head wound. Images broadcast by Prime Video Sport show Grosso bleeding and being treated by doctors. The cut to the Italian manager’s head is said to be 3cm long. L’Équipe have added that Grosso is the victim of a suspected concussion and will not be able to take his place in the dugout for the Choc des Olympiques.  

Lyon’s fans were also attacked en route to the Vélodrome. Three coaches were attacked by the Marseille fans and are not in a fit condition to make the return journey.
