PSG predicted XI v Clermont: Kylian Mbappé could start after overcoming ankle injury

L’Équipe are reporting that Kylian Mbappé could start after overcoming an ankle injury. The France captain was substituted in the first half of last weekend’s Classique against Olympique de Marseille with the injury, but Luis Enrique has revealed that he is now training normally with the group.

Mbappé’s training schedule has been affected by the injury, which prevented him from training with the first team on Wednesday. The club’s medical department’s focus was on having the Frenchman 100% fit for Wednesday’s Champions League tie against Newcastle United, and it was therefore expected that Mbappé would be rested. However, ultimately, he will be in the squad, and he could start. Luis Enrique said the AS Monaco academy product participated in Friday’s session in full without any issues.

PSG don’t have any major fresh injury concerns. Nuno Mendes, Presnel Kimpembe and Marco Asensio are all still absent, as is Lee Kang-in, who is away on international duty. Some rotation is, however, expected ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League tie.
