FFF ask Jean-Clair Todibo to explain behaviour during minute’s silence

Jean-Clair Todibo (23) was filmed laughing during the minute’s silence, in memory of the victims of the Israel-Gaza conflict, as well as a teacher killed in Arras, that preceded France’s 2-1 victory over the Netherlands on Friday. The French Football Federation (FFF) have now reached out to the Frenchman for an explanation, according to RMC Sport.

Todibo received a late call-up by Didier Deschamps following multiple withdrawals through injury. The OGC Nice centre-back, who made his Les Bleus debut during the last international break, started Friday night’s fixture in Amsterdam from the bench. Prior to the match, a minute’s silence was held in memory of the victims of the ongoing Israel-Gaza conflict, as well as a teacher killed in Arras earlier that week. However, during this minute’s silence, Todibo was filmed laughing.

Whilst international teammate Eduardo Camavinga (20) sought to defend Todibo, stating that the situation had been “misinterpreted,” the FFF’s National Ethics Council will investigate the incident, as reported by RMC Sport. The Council have asked Todibo to explain his behaviour during the minute’s silence.
