Montpellier in advanced negotiations to sign Lillestrøm forward Akor Adams

Montpellier look set to lose Stephy Mavididi and Elye Wahi this summer. The former is on the verge of joining Championship side Leicester City, whilst the latter is highly coveted by Chelsea. The Stamford Bridge club have submitted an opening offer for the France U21 international, which has been rejected. Tottenham Hotspur and Atletico Madrid are also reportedly in the race to sign the prolific forward. 

However, amidst the expected departures, Montpellier look set to add a new element to their attacking arsenal. According to a report in L’Équipethe Ligue 1 club are in advanced negotiations with Lillestrøm over the signing of Akor Adams (23). The Nigerian forward, who competes in the Norwegian top flight, scored 17 goals in 17 matches in all competitions last season. 

The former Nigeria U20 international’s contract with Lillestrøm runs until December 2024, but he could trade Norway for France this summer. The transfer will be worth around €5m.
