PSG make contact with Montpellier for Chelsea and Tottenham target Elye Wahi

The race to sign Montpellier free-scoring sensation Elye Wahi (20) is heating up. Foot Mercato reports this Thursday that Paris Saint-Germain have made contact with their Ligue 1 counterparts in order to receive information on any potential deal for their prized asset, regarding the transfer fee or the eventual payment terms.

PSG may indeed need to bolster their attacking options considering Neymar and Hugo Ekitiké has reportedly been shown the door and that Kylian Mbappé has informed the board that he won’t leave the Parc des Princes this summer.

So far, Chelsea seemed to be the club leading the race to sign the U21 France international. However, the Blues’ €28m bid fell short of Montpellier’s valuation of Wahi. Foot Mercato understands that the Montpellier man even visited the Premier League club’s Cobham facilities. However, the outlet believes that Tottenham Hotspur are still very interested in Wahi. Ange Postecoglou’s side may part ways with free-scoring forward Harry Kane, with Tottenham agreeing a transfer fee in excess of €100m with Bayern Munich. Should Eintracht Frankfurt sell Randal Kolo Muani, the Bundesliga side are also set to confirm their interest in Wahi, unless an unexpected approach from PSG turn Montpellier’s and their player’s head…
