West Ham joining Eintracht Frankfurt, Chelsea and PSG in race to sign Elye Wahi

As exclusively reported by Get French Football News on Thursday, West Ham United have joined the race to sign Montpellier prospect Elye Wahi (20). The Hammers were keen to make a move for Arsenal striker Folarin Bolagun. However, the USMNT free-scoring forward reportedly favours a move abroad, which has triggered West Ham’s approach for the French U21 international.

The race to sign Wahi is heating up, with Montpellier yet to receive an acceptable bid for their prized asset. The 20-year-old is set to be part of Michel Der Zakarian’s squad when the latter host promoted side Le Havre on Sunday. L’Équipe adds that Eintracht Frankfurt have outbid Chelsea’s €28m offer with a total package worth €33m. However, the Bundesliga side’s valuation of Wahi still falls short of Montpellier’s.

However, the Hérault side may see fit to bide their time and wait for a bidding war with West Ham and PSG yet to submit an offer for the sought-after Wahi.
