Elye Wahi questioning Chelsea project as West Ham table €35m bid

Free-scoring Montpellier striker Elye Wahi (20) has still not chosen his future club, two weeks before the end of the summer transfer window. Chelsea looked to be the most likely club to lure the French U21, international with Wahi visiting the Cobham facilities. However, RMC Sport reports this Tuesday that the 20-year-old is questioning the Blues’ sporting project and the significance of the role he would play with Mauricio Pochettino’s side –  even if, despite their spendthrift transfer spree, Chelsea can only rely on Nicolas Jackson as an outright striker for now.

Chelsea are not the only club interested in the services of the French U21 international. RMC Sport reports that the 20-year-old would be keen on a move to Eintracht Frankfurt. The outlet understands that Eintracht are waiting for the sale of Randal Kolo Muani before tabling a bid for Wahi. However, they may need to up their expected €32m bid including bonuses. Indeed, RMC Sport confirms – as revealed by Get French Football Newsthat West Ham United are targetting Wahi. The Hammers have reportedly tabled a €35m bid to their Montpellier counterparts.
