West Ham make €40m offer for Elye Wahi

According to L’Équipe, West Ham United have made an official bid for Elye Wahi worth €40m including bonuses. The bid is an upfront fee of €35m with a further €5m in bonuses. The total package of €40m meets the expectation of Montpellier when it comes to the Frenchman’s asking price.

This bid follows an earlier report from RMC Sport which indicated both West Ham and Lens were nearing agreements with La Paillade. However, the latest from L’Équipe is that only West Ham have made a formal offer at present. The Racing club are still in active talks with Montpellier, however without making a formal proposal.

Despite Wahi being included in the official teamsheet posted on Montpellier’s social media outlets, the French U21 international is understood not to have been on the bus which has travelled north to face Lyon on Saturday evening. Eintracht Frankfurt are also interested in Wahi and the final decision on his future is expected to be made imminently.
