Montpellier reject Udinese offer for Maxime Estève

L’Équipe are reporting that Montpellier HSC have rejected an offer, worth up to €8m, from Udinese for centre-back Maxime Estève (21).

Estève’s future remains uncertain. The young French centre-back will be allowed to leave the club this summer, but not just at any price. An offer from Udinese has been rejected, according to L’Équipe. The offer, which was submitted on Wednesday, was worth €5m, with €3m of bonuses.

The France U20 international has not featured for Michel Der Zakarian’s side yet this season, however, having come through the ranks at the club, he has made 48 appearances for the first team. Estève’s contract runs until the summer of 2025, having extended back in March 2022. At the time, the Montpellier defender was attracting interest from Serie A, notably from AC Milan and AS Roma. Once again, Italian sides are interested in Estève, but Udinese will have to up their offer if they are to prise him away from the Ligue 1 club.
