Jean-Charles Castelletto wants to leave Nantes

L’Équipe are reporting that Jean-Charles Castelletto (28) wants to leave FC Nantes, and has asked to be omitted from the squad to face AS Monaco on Friday.

As reported by L’Équipe last week, the Cameroonian international is attracting interest. Trabzonspor reportedly submitted an offer worth €2.5m, however, this falls way short of Nantes’ €8m valuation of the player, who still has three years remaining on his contract. Les Canaris haven’t responded to the Turkish side’s advances, nor to the interest shown by Serie A side Cagliari.

Nantes are therefore unwilling to consider Castelletto’s departure, much to the frustration of the player himself. Castelletto wants to leave the club and has asked to not be involved in Friday’s Ligue 1 tie against Monaco. Nantes, who have lost both of their Ligue 1 games this season, have already parted ways with Andrei Girotto this summer, and they are therefore unwilling to sell another key element of their defence. Nantes are looking to bring in Valencia’s Eray Cömert on loan.
