Kingsley Coman: “Stats aren’t a priority for me.”

Speaking ahead of France’s UEFA European Championship qualifier against the Netherlands, Kingsley Coman (27) addressed his low goal return for Les Bleus.

Coman, a Paris Saint-Germain youth academy product, has 60 goals in 277 games for Bayern Munich, whom he joined from Juventus, initially on loan, in 2015. However, for Les Bleus, Coman has just five goals and four assists in 51 appearances. None of those goals have come in a major tournament (three in Euro qualifying, one in a friendly, one in the Nations League).

However, the Bayern Munich winger isn’t concerned by his lack of goals in Bleu. Speaking at a press conference, transcribed by Get French Football NewsComan said, “Statistics are an aim, I know, but they aren’t a priority for me. My objective is to help the team to win in a role that I’m asked. The important thing is that that’s through either a goal, an assist, runs or defensive work.”
