Lorient have officially announced the signing of FC Zurich forward Aiyegun Tosin (25). The Beninese international has put pen to paper on a four-year deal with Les Merlus.
Tosin was one of the most sought-after strikers in Ligue 1 with Montpellier and Nantes also reportedly keen to acquire his services. During the past three seasons, Tosin has logged 35 goals and nine assists with FC Zurich.

Lorient were in the market for a centre-forward considering Ibrahima Koné is expected to part ways with Les Merlus. La Liga side Almeria have targeted Koné as a replacement for the departing El Bilal Touré. According to L’Équipe, FC Zurich and Lorient struck a deal over a fee in excess of €4m for the transfer of Tosin.
The Benin international will wear the #27 with Les Merlus. The Brittany side have not wasted any time in getting their business done. They have landed Guingamp goalkeeper Dominique Youfeigane, promising defenders Formose Mendy and Dembo Sylla as well as 2018 World Cup winner Benjamin Mendy. Attacking midfielder Romain Faivre has also joined Lorient on a season-long loan from AFC Bournemouth.
