Official | Lille’s Mohamed Bayo joins Le Havre on loan

Le Havre have tonight announced the arrival of striker Mohamed Bayo on a season-long loan deal from Lille, which according to earlier reports will not include an option to make the move permanent at the end of the campaign.

The 25-year-old joined Les Dogues from Clermont last season, but has failed to make a significant impact, scoring only four times last season – having found the net 36 times over two campaigns previously for the Auvergne outfit.

Bayo was not in manager Paulo Fonseca’s plans for this season, having been unable to replicate his Clermont form. Just weeks into last season, he was dropped from the squad to face Paris Saint-Germain after a video circulated on social media showing the forward in a nightclub the evening before the game. He later apologised for the incident. He will now look to get his Ligue 1 career back on track in Normandy.
